Vivendi ‘to keep Universal’
Vivendi Universal seems prone to keep its Universal Music assets, based on a Reuters report yesterday.
The report states the organization is searching to boost the finance it requires by selling Universal Galleries, its movie-making arm.
“Potential bidders are anticipated to get information packs within the next 10 days outlining what’s for purchase,” Reuters stated.
This news is available in the wake of speculation that Apple will make a deal for Universal Music, Vivendi Universal’s music imprint.
Despite Reuters assertion, speculation continues.
Vivendi wil hold its combined ordinary and remarkable general meeting for shareholders today. Company management expect a hard session, as angry shareholders face diminishing share values.
The organization is webcasting the meeting (using Home windows Media Player).
It’s not certain the organization will offer you more details regarding a potential Apple offer because of its Universal Record companies throughout the meeting.
An email on Universal’s Site warns: “Following a many gossips about possible resource disposals, Vivendi Universal want to again highlight that no statement or comments is going to be made on disposals before their completion.”
